Magazine Beach Pool and Park
Set on the banks of the Charles, this public good offers recreation for all ages and interests. Historically, many Bostonians and other locals swam in the Charles in the first half of the 20th century, there are now more efforts to bring this back as the Charles becomes more safe and clean. On the hottest days of the year, many gather at magazine to swim and splash and make a day or afternoon poolside. Between the pool and the banks lies picnic tables and lounge changes to enjoy the shade under the trees and the breeze of the Charles. Grasses and trees grow plentiful in the park and a skyline includes the BU bridge and many Boston buildings. To split up a weekday afternoon with a quick dunk or spend a warm Saturday with loved ones can feel wholesome and nurturing. The built and natural ammenities for all to enjoy make magazine and other public pools a piece of the city Iām most grateful for š±ā¤ļø
Enjoy the public pool during the months of June until mid August. All other areas are open year round including a playground gym for bodyweight exercise and a Mass Audubon Nature Center that offers many events and information about local flora and fauna.
