hall’s pond sanctuary

Hall’s Pond Sanctuary 🌱 Brookline

Opening the heavy gates leads you to a true sanctuary just minutes from bustling metropolis. This unique and healthy cedar swamp is a refuge for plants and wildlife. Many cardinals, blue jays, and cheese can be seen alongside many native grasses and trees. Below the old cured boardwalk lies many rabbits and squirrels that snack on the plentiful flora. I come by one day to share a sight with others of a lone cormorant who has come to fish the waters. It is a sign of the desirable pond full of fish that would attract a bird that usually hunts in rivers and ocean, but it is not met with welcoming geese, rather it is tracked and has to carefully swim below avoiding the nest nearby. More often, the area is peace and quiet; and a beautiful place to watch the sun rise and set among the canopy seen around the sanctuary. May I recommend you turn off the headphones during this part of your stroll, as the flora and fauna often provide enough ambient background noise to entertain your ears and provide harmony to your visual pleasures 🌱❤️🦆
